The 2021 Formula One season has officially begun. Tell me you got up Sunday morning to watch the Bahrain GP on ESPN2! If not, it should. Я… But, to quote old Obi-Wan Kenobi, from a certain angle.

This POV was taken while driving an Aston Martin Vantage in a sprawling parking lot in Los Angeles. Marty Smith and I were surrounded by panoramic views of the Hollywood Hills and got to see Ferrari’s, Bugatti’s, Lamborghini’s and all sorts of other supercars, right down to the ones neither you nor I can afford.

While we watched the race with the owners of millionaire supercars and the Southern California social media influencers who wrote about the supercars (let’s just say there were a lot of young men in tight jeans and glittery tops with their own photographers), we didn’t just witness the 96th running of the race. Lewis Hamilton’s career victory. We also looked at the foreshadowing of what awaits Formula 1 this season, from Bahrain to Abu Dhabi. It is the longest season in Formula 1 history, with 23 races lasting 10 months and taking place on every continent except Antarctica. The season includes the return of the GP of the Netherlands, which has not been held since 1985, and the first event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

So what can we expect in 2021? What could surprise us? Have the events in Bahrain changed our minds in this regard? And what kind of car can you get for $2 million? Read on as I try to type this story as a passenger while Marty drives our Aston Martin across the 405 like James Bond so we can catch our flight home from LA.

Well, you should already know this one, even if you don’t know Yugo’s Mercedes W12. Believe it or not, but there has been speculation as to whether the 36-year-old Briton will return in 2021 to break the title with Michael Schumacher for most world championships. And after a 2020 season in which he challenged Schumacher for the title and scored a career victory, Hamilton also overcame a diagnosis of COVID-19 to become one of the sport’s leading voices calling attention to social and racial injustice.

He signed a one-year contract with Mercedes last month and said the process was delayed by his desire to get assurances from the team that it would help him promote social justice and environmental awareness. These negotiations may have been slow, but as we learned Sunday morning in Bahrain, Hamilton’s race car is not.

Red Bull overtakes Mercedes

Literally closer, in inches. On Sunday, Max Verstappen appeared to be driving the final laps of the race, only to be told to give the lead back to Hamilton as officials said he had stopped overtaking by going too far off the track. Yet he lost to Hamilton by a measly 745 seconds.

Even after a heartbreaking defeat, Red Bull know they will be on Hamilton’s heels all season. When Red Bull Racing boss Christian Horner talks about rivals Mercedes and their current run of seven consecutive championships, he is careful to say that, yes, they are a dominant team at the moment, but that won’t last forever. He knows this to be true because it was his team that won four consecutive titles before this Mercedes.

Current RBR drivers Checo Perez and Verstappen looked incredibly fast during pre-season testing in Bahrain two weeks ago, were fastest in practice in Bahrain on Friday, qualified first and eleventh on Saturday and went all the way with that on Sunday in Bahrain to finish second and fifth, even after an electrical fault in the warm-up sent Perez to the back of the field. Now they have to take him to places not called Bahrain. By the way, did I mention that Horner is married to Ginger Spice? I called it out to one of the influencers on Sunday morning and he gave me a thumbs up, like, okay, cool, man.

The Masters are back

Besides Hamilton, there are three former world champions on the grid every weekend. Kimi Räikkönen will drive for Alfa Romeo, also known as the little brother of Ferrari, the team with which he won the Formula One title in 2007. At least, I think it’s Raikkonen. It could be a cardboard cutout of a former NASCAR Truck Series driver. It’s hard to say.

Sebastian Vettel, the man who won those four world titles while working for his spouse Ginger Spice, will be the same as Marty and McGee, the Aston Martin driver from the team formerly known as Racing Point. His boss is Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll and his teammate is Stroll’s 22-year-old son Lance. Lance Stroll finished 10th on Sunday and Vettel didn’t come back from a penalty and finished 15th. So keep your eyes peeled for that always funny veteran vs. the son of the boss situation.

But the former champion is the returning Fernando Alonso, 39, who announced his presence with authority last weekend when asked on Thursday if he was as good as Hamilton, Kimi and Seb. The Spaniard replied: No, I’m better and I beat two in Bahrain, even though I only finished tenth. After a two-year absence, he returned to drive for Alpine Racing, formerly Renault, aka the team with the red, white and blue cars that look like the fireworks ice creams you used to eat at your local pool.

Ferrari is still not back…. But maybe more than we thought.

Ferrari is the Yankees’ version of Formula One. You can love them or hate them, but when they’re good, their sport gets more exposure worldwide. But even if they are bad, they are still the main story. And, Mio Dio, were they bad? The racehorse has not won a world title since Raikkonen in 2007, has not won a world title since Vettel won in Singapore on the 22nd. September 2019 hasn’t won a race since and had to fight for a sixth title last year in the race for the constructors’ title. They also had an awkward moment with Vettel at the start of last season, when they brought in Carlos Sainz from McLaren to support Charles Leclerc.

Leclerc finished fourth on Sunday, while Sainz battled with his hero Alonso for eighth place. Despite the promise of a brand new engine, team boss Mattia Binotto admits the team is likely to be rebuilding this season. And if you’ve never seen Mattia Binotto, close your eyes and imagine what a man named Mattia Binotto looks like when he builds Ferraris for a living. That’s exactly what it looks like.

What kind of car can you get for two million dollars?

The same Aston Martin Vantage borrowed by Marty & McGee for the F1 Drive-In L.A. was recently featured in Car and Driver and costs $150,086. That makes it the only 150-pound car whose front axles were pulled to the curb at In-N-Out, as we did on Saturday (don’t tell anyone in Gaydon, England). But on either side of our row for the big screen on Sunday morning were a $1.7 million McLaren Elva and a Ferrari Monza SP2, which can fetch up to $2 million. What’s in it for you? Cool, definitely.

But that’s not enough to buy a windshield. Finally, I have been told by NASCAR fans that the Cup cars are not allowed to have a windshield on the dirt track at Bristol Motor Speedway (Tennessee). I shouted through an Instagram influencer wall to ask the owner of Monza, who was wearing a helmet, if he would donate his car to someone to drive to Bristol on Monday. He remained unmoved.

After the Americans failed to qualify for the Olympics on Sunday, former Mexico assistant coach Mario Carrillo said he felt the U.S. made a mistake by not including a core of promising U23 players, including Christian Pulisic, Tyler Adams, Weston McKenney and Sergino Desta.

These players, who are all under contract to European clubs, could not play in Guadalajara because their clubs were not obliged to release them for the Olympic qualifiers. Instead, they were selected by American football to play in friendly games for seniors.

But Carrillo said the U.S. will lose an important step in the development of the player and the national team.

I think they were very arrogant, Carrillo said on Sunday’s edition of Futbol Picante on ESPN Deportes. You should never miss the Olympics. The level of play in a tournament like this is very important [as preparation] for the World Cup.

The United States lost 2-1 to Honduras on Sunday in the semifinals of CONCACAF Olympic qualifying, missing out on the Olympics for the third year in a row.

After opening the tournament with consecutive wins over Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, the Americans lost to Mexico and then Honduras in the Group A final.

Mexico and Honduras will both qualify in Tokyo and advance to the championship on Tuesday.

Team USA’s Olympic loss is part of a trend in which the senior national team missed the 2018 World Cup.

Since the 1996 Atlanta Games, the Americans have returned to the Olympics only twice, most recently in 2008.

Carrillo worked as an assistant coach to Manuel Lapuente during the 1998 World Cup and then to Javier Aguirre during the 2010 finals in South Africa.

In Liga MX, Carrillo led Club America to the 2005 Clausura title and the Mexican Campeon de Campeones trophy.

The former Cruz Azul and Pumas coach stressed the importance of the players’ development process that led to El Tri’s gold medal at the London Games.

Some of the current starters on the Mexican team are the same ones who won at the 2012 Olympics, Carrillo said.

Of the players who beat Neymar and Brazil in the final in London, only Raul Jimenez (Wolverhampton Wanderers) and Hector Herrera (Atletico Madrid) are key players for Mexico coach Gerardo Martino ahead of next year’s World Cup.

Nevertheless, Carrillo reiterated the importance of the US participating in high-level international competitions at all age levels, especially when the US withdraws from CONCACAF for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The United States should have qualified for the Olympics, Carrillo said. We should have appointed a good coach, because these games would have been very important for the World Cup.

At the Guadalajara tournament, the U.S. and Mexican teams represented two countries that ultimately have the right to represent the other. Mexican Santiago Munoz was born in El Paso, Texas, while Americans David Ochoa, Julian Araujo, Sebastian Saucedo and Sebastian Soto can play for El Tri thanks to their father.

Players like Efrain Alvarez, who is currently training with the Mexican national senior team, can still request a one-time transfer to the US or Mexico according to FIFA regulations.

SAN LOUIS OBISPO – Cal Poly announced today that it will forgo the remainder of the 2020-21 spring football season, effective immediately.

We made this decision because of the high number of serious injuries to our players finishing the season, said Cal Poly athletic director Don Oberhelman. In addition, many seniors have notified us of their decision to move their recruitment from the spring semester to the fall in order to play a full fall season.

Of the 110 student-athletes, Cal Poly will only have 49 participate on Saturday, which is below the Big Sky minimum.

Cal Poly’s 2020-21 spring season included the second half of the winter quarter and the first three weeks of the spring quarter, which began Monday, the 29th. The month of March is beginning.

The health, safety and well-being of our student football players were the sole factors in our decision to end the season early – a decision made after careful consideration with members of our coaching staff, President Armstrong, the university administration and the medical staff, Oberhelman said. This allows our young men to stay safe and prepare academically and athletically for the fall 2021 season.

Coach Bo Baldwin’s first football team at Cal Poly began preparations for the spring schedule on January 29, but a few days later all team activities were halted for 17 days due to COVID-19 protocols, forcing the postponement of the first two games against UC Davis and Weber State.

Despite the closure of all events for this period and the shorter preparation time window, everyone in our program is committed to playing the Big Sky schedule this spring, Baldwin said. All members of our program remain committed, but I support this decision for the health and well-being of our students.

The Mustangs will not play their final away game at Northern Arizona this weekend, nor will they play their home game against UC Davis on the 10th. April and Weber State on the 17th. April.

Ultimately, the health and safety of our student-athletes should always be our top priority, Baldwin said. We look forward to recovery in the coming months and a memorable campaign in the fall of 2021.

A total of 29 NCAA Division I football teams, including five Big Sky teams – Montana, Montana State, Portland State, Northern Colorado and Sacramento State – refused to play in the spring football tournament before games began in mid-February. Several other teams around the country have seen their season end after just a few games.

The Portland Trail Blazers are always a good playoff team. They even made it to the Western Conference Finals in the 2018-2019 playoffs, but were swept by the Golden State Warriors and Stephen Curry. Getting to the playoffs is fun: but Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum are getting older, and maybe it’s time for them to try for a championship.

The Portland Trail Blazers already have a solid team, but they just need more on their roster to really compete with the heavyweights of the Western Conference. The McCollum-Lillard duo could go far: but with even more players, the team’s chances of reaching the finals and possibly winning the championship could increase. There are many ways to improve, and the easiest is to use the buyback market.

There are two names the Portland Trail Blazers should focus on: DeMarcus and LaMarcus Aldridge Cousins. If Portland were to sign both, it would be a team that could potentially win a championship. It’s the perfect plan for the Portland Trail Blazers.

DeMarcus Cousins parted ways with the Houston Rockets a few weeks ago after it became clear that the franchise had chosen Christian Wood for rejuvenation and plenty of minutes. This is not to say that DeMarcus Cousins is a bad player: There were some promising moments during his time in Houston, and he could still be a key player for the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Portland Trail Blazers already have a solid center with Yusuf Nurkic, but the arrival of DeMarcus Cousins could add a new dimension to their offense. DeMarcus Cousins is a center who can put players on the floor and push them inside for easy baskets. In his heyday, DeMarcus Cousins was a top-notch center: Even a small portion of this amount can become a center of impact.

Recovering from an injury is a process that often takes time, and the Rockets only used Cousins in 25 games before he was cut. Maybe he just needs time and a stable role. The Trail Blazers could use Cousins as someone who can get into the game with other big men while increasing their depth. None of the Trail Blazers’ current centers offer the range of Cousins, and he could be a useful asset for Portland. This would allow DeMarcus Cousins to settle into the top half of the Western Conference standings and get minutes to fully recover and acclimate before the playoffs.

The Return of LaMarcus Aldridge

LaMarcus Aldridge is a player who has been the subject of several trade rumors in recent weeks: However, the possibility of a repurchase still exists. If LaMarcus Aldridge is released, the Portland Trail Blazers are expected to make a trade to bring back the franchise legend. LaMarcus Aldridge could start at PF and bring more veterans to the team.

LaMarcus Aldridge hasn’t had the best individual season, but he’s still a player who can provide scoring opportunities given his big role in the offense. In the 2019-20 season, LaMarcus Aldridge recorded averages of 18.9 PPG and 7.4 RPG. He still has a lot of potential and could be a good tertiary scoring option for any team looking to become a championship contender.

This season will be one of Aldridge’s last in the NBA: It makes sense for him to go to a team where he can compete for a championship. For the Trail Blazers, he would be the missing piece that could possibly get them a championship. They already have a lot of talent on the roster: CJ McCollum, Damian Lillard and Carmelo Anthony are all capable players. The addition of LaMarcus Aldridge will take this team to the next level and possibly make them champions.

LaMarcus Aldridge and DeMarcus Cousins are experienced players in this league and have the talent to play on any team. Joining the Portland Trail Blazers would allow him to join a team with an underdog mentality and provide the injection of talent that the Trail Blazers need to move into the upper reaches of the league. The goal of the front office is to surround Damian Lillard with players who can help him win a championship: These two veterans will help Lillard do that. The Portland Trail Blazers could be greatly improved by acquiring these two players, and it could be a crazy revenge season for a team desperate to reach the Finals.

has promoted its acting chief financial officer to a permanent position as the utility struggled to stabilize its operations after its equipment caused a series of deadly fires that bankrupted it.

San Francisco-based PG&E announced Wednesday that Christopher Foster will retire on the 20th. He took over as CFO in March, having held the position of interim CFO since September. Foster, who joined the company in 2011, previously served as vice president of treasury and investor relations.

who resigned to become CFO of CenterPoint Energy Inc, another utility company. In his new position, Foster is eligible for an annual base salary of $615,000, in addition to other benefits, PG&E said.

His promotion comes a few months after Patti Poppe became PG&E’s new executive director. Ms. Poppet succeeded her in January.

PG&E, which supplies gas and electricity to about 16 million people in California, faced billions of dollars in liability and filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection after its facilities caused more than a dozen devastating wildfires in 2017 and 2018.

The company released a report on the 25th. February a profit of $200 million for the year ended 31. quarter ended December, compared with a loss of $3.62 billion a year earlier. At the time, PG&E said it expected a loss of 38 to 52 cents per share for fiscal 2021.

Foster said he would focus on tasks such as improving PG&E’s balance sheet so the company can fund significant investments in wildfire safety and risk reduction.

The new CFO is expected to raise capital for a broad investment program, primarily through the debt capital markets, said Travis Miller, equity strategist at the financial services firm.

As part of that program, PG&E said in February that it plans to spend about $8 billion a year at least through 2025 to upgrade the electrical system to reduce risks.

Foster will also need to help improve the company’s reputation with investors, regulators and customers after the fires and bankruptcy, analysts said.

Sweet 16 of the 2021 women’s basketball tournament. It’s March Madness: all #1 and #2 ranked teams advance to the regional semifinals, or one of the offensives – the six teams ranked #5 or lower also advance.

This is the third consecutive time in the NCAA Tournament that the top eight seeds have advanced to the regional finals, but the first time since 2013 that six teams outside the top four seeds have made it this far.

The Big Ten is the story of the field. The SEC put six teams in the top 16, but there are only two left. For the first time in Conference history, four Big Ten teams have reached the Sweet 16 for women. Michigan is making its maiden voyage. Indiana returns for the first time since 1983. Maryland and Iowa were there in 2019, but with very different teams.

All four Big Ten teams have moved up in our updated Sweet 16 rankings.

1. Stanford Cardinal (Original serial number: #1. Serial number: #1)

The Cardinals’ win in the second round wasn’t as big as the other No. 1 on this list, but it was impressive and had all the hallmarks of a Stanford victory. The Cardinals led by 15 points at the break and controlled the game. Eight different players scored, including four in double figures. Stanford limited Oklahoma State star Natasha Mack to 13 points, her lowest point total since the second quarter. January. Haley Jones led the team with 17 points for the first time in over a month. And that Stanford versatility was there for all to see: Tuesday’s win was the sixth in seven games in which the Cardinals have had another top scorer.

2. UConn Huskies (original location: #1. Placement: #1)

Husky coach Geno Auriemma returned from KOVID-19 quarantine for the regional games – just in time for long-awaited recruits Caitlin Clark of Iowa and Paige Buchers of UConn. In the second half, the Huskies systematically dissected the Syracuse zone and held the Orange to 28 percent shooting. Booker had 20 points, but it was another rookie, the 6-foot-6 Aaliyah Edwards, who did well again and again. In UConn’s first two NCAA Tournament appearances, she averaged 18.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. The Gamecocks were the most dominant team in the country a year ago, but lost their chance to be the favorite when the 2020 NCAA Tournament was cancelled. South Carolina remains one of the favorites to dominate at least defensively this year. Mercer and Oregon State shot just 34.4 percent in South Carolina’s two wins. The 95 points the Gamecocks allowed in the first two rounds combined was the lowest total the team allowed in two games in the tournament. They especially shined against the Beavers. Oregon State ranked third nationally in 3-point shooting accuracy, but it was just 3-of-19 on Tuesday, and the 42 points scored by the Beavers were a season low. South Carolina’s inability to make 3-point shots (4-of-29 in two games) could be a problem.

4. Baylor Lady Bears (Original number: #2. New number: #1)

It was tempting to put the Lady Bears even higher. They are probably the most impressive team in the NCAA tournament so far. But starting pitchers are important in this selection process, and it’s not like Stanford, UConn and South Carolina aren’t also dominant. So Baylor remains in fourth place. Coach Kim Mulkey believes his defense is number one right now. He said this after winning in the second round at Virginia Tech: That’s the most impressive defense I’ve ever put on the field in an NCAA tournament game, maybe even in my entire coaching career.

Baylor is one of the best defensive teams in the country this season, if not the best, and they lead the country in scoring. It’s not surprising that a good Hokies offense only gets 30%. But then again, this is nothing new for the Lady Bears. The 2019 championship team and last year’s 28-2 team also led the nation, as they allowed their opponents to shoot just 31%. Baylor scores 82.6 points per game, but wins on defense.

5. Maryland Terraria (Original seed: no. 2)

Maryland, the regular-season and conference tournament champion, leads the Big Ten. San Antonio’s Terps also cover most of the field on offense. Some of the winning scores from Wednesday’s games were 64, 57 and 53. Maryland defeated Alabama 100-64. In women’s NCAA Tournament history, only three other teams have scored at least 98 points in their first two games of the tournament (2018 Notre Dame, 1989 Stanford and 1988 Long Beach State). Against the Crimson Tide, the Terps shot 62% from the field and were led by two bench players: Angel Reese (19 points) and Faith Masonius (16 points). There are counters on their entire rotation.

6. NC State Wolfpack (Originally determined to be #1. Newly determined to be #2)

The Wolfpack played without starter Kayla Jones in Tuesday’s second round. Elissa Coonan had another day off at the Star Center. They won just two of the four quarters against South Florida. Despite this, they defeated a team that has a regular season title and a conference tournament title on their record by double digits. Tenacity and talent rule the NCO staff again. Jones suffered a knee injury in the first round and her status at the regional championships is uncertain. Cunane is just 6-of-22 from the field and has two 12-point games in the NCAA tournament. The notion of surviving and moving forward began in Raleigh with the men’s team and Jim Valvano. With Jones out of the game and Cunan in trouble, that’s exactly what the Wolfpack need to do.

7. Louisville Cardinals (original number: #2. Placement: #2)

The Cardinals allowed the most points in the first quarter of the season (25) on Wednesday, and their 10 points scored marked the fewest points to start a game in the 2020-21 season. Their 18-point deficit was also their biggest of the season. However, the Cardinals made up for it by beating Northwestern 62-53 and reaching the Sweet 16 for their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance. After scoring nine field goals and 25 points in the first quarter, the Wildcats scored another 11 field goals and 28 points in the final 30 minutes. Louisville doesn’t have any concerns on defense, but they might with Dana Evans. Since the start of the ACC tournament, the senior star is shooting 30 percent from the field and is averaging 13 points per game. That’s after 18.1 PPG and 45% shooting in the regular season. Louisville’s youth won over Northwestern. Haley Van Leet and Olivia Cochran each scored 13 points to create the women’s third-longest comeback in the NCAA Tournament at Louisville.

8. Texas A&M Aggies (Original serial number: #2. Serial number: #2).

After the decisive shot in overtime to defeat Iowa State, Jordan Nixon said the confidence of his teammates and coaches was the key to his success in College Station. She gave them a good reason. Nixon was Texas A&M’s leading scorer in both NCAA Tournament games. He scored 35 points in a 45-minute game against the Cyclones. The Aggies never led until the extension, and coach Gary Blair – his confidence doubled – didn’t call a timeout on the final possession, instead working Nixon into the lane for a runner high behind the glass to pick up the win. Two wins by six points kept Texas A&M alive. The Aggies also survived a game-high 32 points from Iowa State’s Ashley Jones, who leaves the tournament with a two-game record of 65 points.

9. Arizona Wildcats (Original Ranking: #3. New Ranking: #3)

The Wildcats may not have perfected the art of defeating monsters, but they did visit the museum. It doesn’t matter. Arizona fought back and defeated BYU 52-46 in the second round and reached the second Sweet 16 in school history. Head coach Adia Barnes was the Wildcats’ senior star on that first trip. It’s a goal she’s had since returning to Tucson in 2016. Aari McDonald came as a transfer from Washington (where Barnes was an assistant) in 2017, and the two worked together to revitalize the program. McDonald, a senior and two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year, scored 17 points and led a defense that held BYU’s defensive duo of Paisley Harding and Shaylee Gonzalez to 6-of-22 from the field.

10. Indiana Hoosiers (original position: No. 4, re-elected: No. 3)

Some teams, players and storylines get more attention than others in the NCAA Tournament. It’s a great individual play, a scoring play or a whistle blowing play that draws the most interest. There was nothing like that in Indiana. Without much ado, the Hoosiers got off to a better start than Gene Hackman’s team in Hickory and exactly where they wanted to be to start the season. While Big Ten partner Maryland is the offensive team of the tournament, Indiana gets the defensive prize. The Terps have scored 100 points in a game. Indiana allowed a total of 80 for two. They are the first defensive team in the league known for scoring goals. It’ll only keep you for a while.

11. Iowa Hawkeyes (Original location: #5. Placement: #3)

Iowa is more than just Caitlin Clark. In some games, she just has a hard time proving it. His 24 points in the first half of Tuesday’s second round were more than the entire Kentucky team. Clark’s 35 points and six three-pointers are both Iowa school records in an NCAA tournament. To reach their third Sweet 16 in six years, the Hawks stuck to a formula that has worked for them all season: In their first 27 games, they have averaged 86.6 points per game on 51.5 percent shooting. 12. Missouri Lady Bear (originally scheduled as #5. Now scheduled as #3)

Someone in the Missouri program probably spent several long hours watching video of Wright State’s win over Arkansas. Angel Baker put the Raiders in the biggest jam of the tournament. The Lady Bears didn’t need to be told twice. Baker’s performance went from 26 to 10 points. Without Baker, Wright State had no other options. Missouri State operated from the 3-point line (8-of-16) and the free throw line (14-of-17), and that was enough to win 64-39 – the fewest points the Lady Bears have ever allowed in an NCAA Tournament game. This is the Sweet 16’s second consecutive trip and two Final Four victories to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Jackie Styles’ unforgettable run in 2001.

13. Michigan Wolverine (Initial selection: 6. Selection: 4)

Naz Hillmon usually leads any conversation about Michigan basketball. Perhaps the Wolverines’ defense should have been given equal consideration. After ranking fourth in the Big Ten in scoring (and in a conference with three of the top 10 teams in the country in scoring), the Wolverines showed their defensive versatility in San Antonio. No team has played such a variety of offensive opponents and performed so well. Florida Gulf Coast leads the nation in scoring with 3 points per game, but the Eagles shot 9-of-29 in the first round. Tennessee was second in the SEC in offensive rebounds and did not have a starter under 6-1, but the Wolverines outscored the Lady Vols 42-40. Michigan held both teams to 17 points below their season average to reach their first Sweet 16.

14. Texas Longhorns (Original serial number: #6. Serial number: #4).

Vic Schaefer knows the formula, reaching the Sweet 16 four times as Mississippi State’s head coach. He just needed to teach all their elements to his Longhorns. Remember the lesson you learned. The Ducks now have two wins and a spot in the Sweet 16. There’s nothing like a second round NCAA tournament to find your happiness. Georgia Tech finished third in the ACC and earned the No. 5 spot on defense. But a 54-52 win in extra time over Stephen F. Austin in the first round as the Yellow Jackets were stopped on an interception in the second half. The offense finally played its part in an impressive 73-56 victory over West Virginia. The team, which finished 13th in the regular season. He ranks first in the ACC in scoring games, hitting 41.3 percent of his pitches.
