Quarterback Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans ends his best season in the NFL. But is it really surprising that even with Bill O’Brien out of Houston, the Texans found a way to destroy their team?

Watson leads the league in passing yards with 4,823, a completion percentage of 70.2, 33 touchdowns and just seven interceptions. Despite a 4-12 record, the Texans were fourth in the NFL in yards per play and had one of the most dynamic passing attacks in the NFL.

Even without DeAndre Hopkins, without Will Fuller missing games due to suspension and without Brandin Cook missing some time due to injury, Deshaun Watson has managed to have a fantastic season.

The Texans have hired former Patriots player personnel director Nick Caserio as the team’s new general manager. Normally that would be a good thing, but Texans can’t be on the same page as their QB franchise.

Deshaun Watson was apparently unhappy that Texas management did not consult with Watson and did not consider any of his recommendations when deciding to hire a new GM. As a result, rumors are circulating that Watson may apply for a contract for the upcoming 2021 season.

A franchise quarterback is rarely offered on the open market early in his career. Elite quarterback talent is hard to find and is never offered for sale at age 25.

A good percentage of the league should be drooling over Watson.

Here are Deshaun Watson’s top three business goals when asked:

#1. Washington Football Team

Rumors of DeShawn Watson's company, Texas

This year’s football team, led by Chase Young, showed great defensive skills. The Washington defense ranks in the top 10 in the league in almost every statistical category, which is why they are in the playoffs.

Clearly, Washington needs a quarterback to generate a significant offensive effort for this team. Despite making the playoffs, Washington’s offense ranked 25th in goals and 25th in yards per play this season.

They struggled to get the ball through the air no matter who the quarterback was, but the constant rotation of the QB certainly didn’t help.

What can Washington do with a franchise quarterback?

Hobbist Alex Smith won 5-1 as a starter and led the franchise to the NFC East Division title, imagine what Deshaun Watson would have done.

Watson would take that offense and make this team one of the most dangerous in the NFC. Deshaun is once again the top receiver in the airspace with Terry McLaurin, he has a solid game with Antonio Gibson and J.D. McKissick, and he has a solid and tight game for the first time in his career (Logan Thomas).

There hasn’t been another winner in this division in 16 years. Not only will Watson make Washington the best team in the division, but he will make it a playoff team every year.

Washington is a good choice for Deshawn.

#2. LA Rams

The Los Angeles Rams are a tight-knit team with a quarterback who is not one of the most dominant teams in the NFL. Even though Jared Goff signed a big contract, the Rams should look to add Goff if Watson is on the table.

Watson will join an electric offense with one of the best offensive linemen in the NFL, Sean McVay.

With a triple-double offense in the running game and a 10 receiver duo in the NFL, Watson would feel like he was in heaven in the Rams’ offense.

Defensively, the Rams are already in a good position. Aaron Donald is the best quarterback in the NFL, and Jalen Ramsey is easily one of the top three cornerbacks in the game. Their defensive superstar has called them the best defense in the NFL this year.

The Rams entered the playoffs as a wild card team, but should be one of the top teams in the NFC given their roster. Deshaun Watson would take them to that level. Watson would not make the same mistakes as Jared Goff and give them the advantage in so many close games that the Rams have lost this season.

An exchange of Deshaun Watson with Los Angeles would be good for both parties.

#3. New Orleans Saints

CP

Drew Brees is expected to retire after the 2020 season, leaving one of the most potent offenses with a gaping hole at the quarterback position. Taysom Hill has proven he can win games, but he’s not the long-term answer for the Saints. Deshaun Watson certainly would be.

Watson will lead one of the best offenses in the NFL. He has a gun in the backfield with Alvin Kamara, and he has a top-five receiver with Michael Thomas.

But the options don’t end there. Emmanuel Sanders, Trequan Smith, Latavius Murray and Jared Cook complete one of the league’s greatest offenses. Not to mention the fact that the Saints are a top team with one of the best offensive coaches in the NFL. It’s like a match made in heaven.

The Saints defense is pretty darn good too. The Saints’ defense is the fifth best against passing and the fourth best against running. They are complete at all three defensive levels and are among the most electric playmakers in high school.

Now that the Saints are ready to win, and with Drew Brees out, they welcome Deshaun Watson with open arms. If I were Deshawn Watson, I’d like to land in New Orleans.

Trade with the Deshaun Watson complex

This list can be compiled for about 20 NFL teams. There are very few teams that aren’t up against Deshaun Watson. Generational talent like Watson is rarely available, so the market will be large and active.

No matter where he goes or if he stays, every NFL fan hopes his talent isn’t wasted by a losing franchise.

Let’s send Deshawn to the Super Bowl!

Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio, Patriots.
