Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is an inspiration to many, not only for his outstanding play on the field, but also for his unnoticed charitable work off the field. Recently, another testament to Brady’s kindness was revealed in a report by Chris Hayes of the Orlando Sentinel, in which the veteran quarterback helped honor a high school football coach and his former player, who now uses a wheelchair after a horrific car accident.
Hayes reported that former Foundation Academy linebacker Bailey Trinder approached Brady, then quarterback for the New England Patriots, nearly two years ago because he wanted to honor his coach, Brad Lord, as a diehard fan of the veteran quarterback and the Patriots.
Trinder said the Lord was still there for him after an accident in 2018 when he rolled over in his truck on his way home from practice. Fortunately, Trinder survived the accident, but lost his ability to walk, leaving him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
Trinder has reached Brady
Trinder tried to contact Brady by letter and through various means before finally reaching out to the quarterback, who signed a two-year, $50 million contract with the Buccaneers in the offseason. When Brady contacted him, Trinder informed him of his plan to give his coach an autographed photo of Brady and a Foundation jersey framed with the number 68, Trinder’s autographed Trinder number. Trinder planned to frame the signed jersey, but Brady sent it back in a personalized frame, another sign of his generosity.
Brady also pays tribute to thetrinder.
Trinder surprised his coach during a video shoot for the school’s website, dressed as new football coach Andre Walker. At the end of the video, Trinder joined in and presented his coach with a T-shirt and a photo signed by Brady. Lord, who named his son Brady after Brady, was pleased with the gifts Brady sent him.
Brady also paid tribute to Trinder in the video, saying the former high school lineman’s story inspired him and many others. After everything you’ve been through and the fact that you wanted to pass it on to Coach Lorde, I’m very touched, Brady said in a video the Foundation Academy posted on YouTube.

Lord said he supported the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at this time and wished Brady good luck in the playoffs, even though he is a Patriots fan.
The Buccaneers will take on the Green Bay Packers in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game for a spot in Super Bowl LI in Tampa. The Packers are the favorites four points behind the Buccaneers, although Tampa Bay beat Green Bay 38-10 in Week 6. Prior to the game, Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said the weather in Lambeau on Sunday would affect his team’s performance against the Packers, according to Luke Easterly of USA Today. Arians says he has a lot of players who have played in Green Bay and other cold places, so he doesn’t think the cold weather is an issue.
