LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – In the South, COVID-19 readings and positive momentum continued Tuesday.

LOS ANGELES COUNTY
The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health reported 386 new confirmed cases of COPID-19 and 26 additional fatal cases, bringing the countywide total to 1,218,958 and 23,110 fatal cases.
Of the new deaths, seven were over 80, nine were between 65 and 79, eight were between 50 and 64, and two were between 30 and 49.
649 COVID-19 patients were hospitalized, 27% of whom were treated in intensive care – a decrease from Monday.

With test results for nearly 6,081,000 people, the total number of positive cases in the district remained steady at 19%. Tuesday, the seven-day moving average fell to 1.5% and the adjusted number of cases to 3.1 new cases per 100,000 residents, putting the county in the orange zone.
ORANGE COUNTRY
The Orange County Health Department has reported 106 new confirmed cases and 14 additional deaths, bringing the total in the county to 250,537 cases and 4,740 deaths. Of those who contracted the virus, 242,669 recovered.
One hundred and forty-three patients with the coronavirus were admitted to the hospital, 26 of whom were treated in the intensive care unit, a decrease from Monday.

With test results available for over 3,332,300 people, the overall national positivity rate was 7.5%. Tuesday, the seven-day moving average fell to 1.7% and the adjusted number of cases to 2.8 new cases per 100,000 residents, putting the county in the orange zone.
COASTAL CIRCLE
Riverside County health officials reported 129 new confirmed cases and 24 additional deaths, bringing the county’s total to 294,192 cases and 4,297 deaths. Of those who contracted the virus, 287,120 recovered.

With test results for more than 2,705,700 people, the total percentage of positive cases in the province was 10.9%. On Tuesday, the seven-day moving average fell to 2.3% and the adjusted number of cases to 4.1 new cases per 100,000 population.
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
San Bernardino County health officials reported 88 new confirmed cases and six more deaths, bringing the total number of cases to 290,803 and the number of deaths countywide to 4,000. Of those who contracted the virus, 285,638 have recovered.

With test results for nearly 2,697,000 people, the total percentage of positive cases in the province was 10.8%. Tuesday, the seven-day moving average fell to 2.1 percent and the adjusted number of cases to 3.8 new cases per 100,000 residents, putting the county in the orange zone. If the numbers continue for another week, the district may move to this less restrictive level.
BOARD OF VENTURA
Ventura County health officials have reported 33 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and two additional fatalities, bringing the county total to 79,621 and 974 deaths. Of those who contracted the disease, 78,322 recovered.
Thirty-two coronavirus patients were hospitalized, eight of whom were treated in intensive care – a slight increase from Monday.

With test results available for over 1,262,500 people, the overall positive rate was 6.3%. Tuesday, the seven-day moving average fell to 1.8 percent and the adjusted number of cases to 3.9 new cases per 100,000 residents, putting the county in the orange zone. If the numbers continue for another week, the district may move to this less restrictive level.
