While the Fed has been keeping interest rates low to encourage spending, some industry experts believe that keeping rates low for too long will cause inflation to run high.
The stock market ended lower Tuesday (Aug. 19), as investors looked ahead to the Federal Reserve’s meeting this week and its statement on interest rates. The Fed will announce its decision on interest rates on Wednesday, as well as supply the market with its growth forecasts. Given that the Fed raised interest rates last month, many experts are predicting another rate hike will be announced this week.

NBA Draft 2001 – Tony Parker
After 2000, designs become more difficult to sort. In 2001, Tyson Chandler and Pau Gasol were elected first, right after Kwame Brown, which we know is one of the biggest failures in history. Joe Johnson, Zach Randolph and Gilbert Arenas were all selected in this draft, but the first pick should have been Parker. Four NBA championships separate them, Chandler won one championship with the Mavericks and Gasol won two with the Lakers.

Westbrook became the first player to record a triple-double since Oscar Robertson in 2017, when he was MVP. Along with Durant, he led the Thunder to the NBA Finals in 2012. The only thing Westbrook is missing is a championship. When Westbrook comes up, he plays his way. No super team, no combined effort. It’s just that Russ is.
2009 NBA Draft – Steph Curry

Davis struggled to put New Orleans in that position, but the team never made it out of the second round. Davis might get a first round pick after his trade to the Lakers, but even if there were no rings, Davis would still be the best player in this draft.
He has been an All-Star eight times and is one of the best offensive and defensive attackers in the league. Lately, he’s been able to hit from the sidelines. A complete player, Davis meets all the requirements when healthy.
2013 NBA Draft – Giannis Antetokounmpo

Remember when Giannis was put at #15? Before him, power forwards like Anthony Bennett (#1 for the Cavaliers) and Cody Zeller (#4 for the Hornets) were selected. Nerlens Noel, Alex Len and Steven Adams are just a few of the centers to be named. The Milwaukee Bucks have made a gold mine out of selecting a Greek Freak.
Two-time MVP, Giannis has become the face of the league. He has much better seasons ahead of him and is one of the most dominant players in the paint. He is also a defender who will compete with Rudy Gobert, also from this squad, for defender of the year for at least the next four or five seasons. The last card he tries to control is an NBA championship.
2014 NBA Draft – Nikola Jokic

Another diamond in the rough. Jokic was selected by the Nuggets with the 41st pick of the season. General selection and was the leading candidate for MVP. There are other interesting prospects like Julius Randle, Zach LaVine and Andrew Wiggins. Joel Embiid could potentially compete with Jokic if he wasn’t injured, as Embiid was once the number one MVP candidate behind Jokic.
Ultimately, Jokic is a game changer for all these players. His average is close to a triple double as a center. There is no other center in the league who can pass and shoot like he can. LaVine, one of the best shooters in this draft, will likely be paired with the Joker because he’s just that good.
2015 NBA Draft – Karl-Anthony Towns

D’Angelo Russell and Kristaps Porzingis left the game. Devin Booker is tied with Towns for most All-Star appearances, but Towns has the advantage of making the NBA All-Star team in 2018, when the Timberwolves made the playoffs. But if Towns stays out of the national spotlight, Booker could be on the rise, especially if the Suns play as well as they are right now.
Cities need a change of scenery. The Timberwolves’ last-place finish ruins his best season. In his career, Towns is averaging 22.7 points and 11.8 rebounds. Sure, the team can get a nice bonus in return.
2016 NBA Draft – Ben Simmons

As far as consistency goes, Tatum’s career numbers are better. Again, this is all too limited and subject to change. The Jazz are in first place in the West and are competing for the championship. Tatum has played three times in the Eastern Conference and accomplished nothing in all that time. Mitchell could see his name here if he makes it to the championship.

The sample size is getting smaller, but who stands out in this draft besides Trae Young and Luka Doncic? Last year, Young was on the All-Star Team for the first time and he is a scoring machine. On the other hand, Doncic is a better player in every way, plain and simple. Doncic is 22, and he has these slashes

Williamson and Ja Morant will always work together, but at this point Williamson has already proven to be the best. Williamson, who is the fourth-oldest starter among NBA All-Stars, is proving in his first full season that he is a star of the future.
It’s disrespectful to Morant that the Grizzlies are vying for a playoff spot, but Williamson’s overall numbers are better. That’s 26.8 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. Both players will represent their team in the All-Star Game in the coming years.
2020 NBA Draft – LaMelo Ball

Anthony Edwards will likely be Rookie of the Year, but if Ball had stayed healthy all season, the award would have gone to him. Ball became the youngest player in NBA history to hit a triple double. Edwards is a pure scorer and will be a primary swingman for the next few years, and Ball may be a little bit at a time.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady had a funny reaction Thursday to an Instagram post from Bleacher Report about the threads of former NFL players available in the 2021 NFL Draft. They are cornerback Asante Samuel Jr, defensive tackle Lorenzo Neal Jr, cornerback Patrick Stein II and cornerback Jaycee Horn. Samuel Jr. is the son of former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. who was Brady’s teammate from 2003 to 2007. Neal Jr. is the son of Lorenzo Neal, who played 16 years in the NFL from 1993-2009 with the New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans, Cincinnati Bengals, San Diego Chargers, Baltimore Ravens and Oakland Raiders.
Stein Jr. is the son of Patrick Stein Sr. who played 11 seasons in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs from 1998-2008. Jaycee Horn is the son of Joe Horn, who played for the Chiefs, the Saints and the Atlanta Falcons from 1996 to 2007.
The caption to Bleacher Report’s Instagram post read: Do you feel old?” to which Brady replied No and accompanied that with a laughing, crying and three 100% smileys. Outside of Samuel, Brady, who was drafted 199th overall by the Patriots in 2000, likely had a chance to play against Sartain Sr, Horn and Neal. While those players are now retired, Brady, 43, continues to perform at a high level and even led the Buccaneers to their first Super Bowl title since 2002.
Brady will also get a chance to fulfill his goal of playing until he is 45 after recently signing a one-year contract extension with the Buccaneers.
QB thinks Brady is the greatest athlete of all time
While many consider Brady the greatest quarterback of all time, former Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond, who is available in the 2021 NFL Draft, thinks the Buccaneers quarterback is more than that.
In an interview with Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Mond said Brady is the greatest athlete to ever play the sport. I think that… I don’t necessarily know how this statement will be received, but I think Tom Brady is the greatest athlete of all time, Mond Florio said, according to CBS Sports. Mond said he preferred Brady to Michael Jordan or LeBron James because he could line up 10 other players on two different teams.
It’s really amazing to see what he’s accomplished, Mond said, referring to Brady’s six Super Bowls with the Patriots and his first ring with the Pirates.

According to Luke Easterling of USA Today, the Buccaneers have taken a five-year option on star defensive lineman Vita Vea’s contract, meaning they will keep him for one more season. Vea, 12. 2018 NFL Draft overall pick, missed most of the 2020 season after breaking his ankle, but returned in the postseason to help the Buccaneers defeat the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Championship Game and the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV.

1. Utah Jazz

A home loss against the Timberwolves when the Jazz still had a chance to make the playoffs? Utah’s game was led in the first half by 17 ? It’s a real head-scratcher, even with Donovan Mitchell out with a sprained ankle. Joe Ingles (1-of-9 from the field) had his worst shooting night of the season, but the Jazz are still 14-4 when he’s used as a starter in place of Mike Conley or Mitchell. — McMahon.
With 11 games left in the regular season, the Nets are finally starting to get their act together. Kevin Durant came back as Kevin Durant and scored 33 points in 28 minutes Sunday against the Suns. While they wait for James Harden, who had a hamstring problem and is back in the starting lineup according to coach Steve Nash, they have their eyes on acquiring a solid player for the postseason. But it’s a sign of support: The Nets went 20-6 against West after its win over Phoenix. — Young
Sunday’s loss was the first time in three months the Suns have lost back-to-back to the Nets. In fact, they have only lost three games in a row this season, 22-27. In January – two of which were in overtime in Denver, just a week after they were moved because of COWID-19. Phoenix is two games behind the Jazz for first place in the Western Conference, but must hold off the Clippers, who are also two games out of first place. — Lopez.

4. LA Clippers

The Clippers are on the rise despite the absence of some starters. Even without Kawhi Leonard (foot), Patrick Beverley (arm), Serge Ibaka (back) and other key players injured or on rest on certain nights, the Clippers have won four games in a row and 17 of their last 20. Paul George is back on the revenge trail, scoring 30 or more points in seven of his last eight games, and the supporting cast has helped the Clippers come from behind to win their last three games. The biggest challenge for head coach Ty Lue, however, will be getting his team on the same page once they are at full strength. The Clippers have had Leonard, George, Beverly and Ibaka since the 11th. Mars is no longer invited to play together. -Youngomisuk

5. Philadelphia 76ers

Just when Philadelphia seemed assured of first place in the East, a disastrous week of four consecutive defeats, including two in Milwaukee against Eastern challengers, put the Sixers behind the Nets in the race for first place. Philly’s schedule is getting easier and the Sixers have a backup game, but this week the tension in the playoff race has been building. — Bontemps
Although the defeats against the Suns and the Hawks were disappointing on both sides, the Bucks won their two most important games this week. They beat Philadelphia twice at home to win back-to-back seasons with the Sixers. Milwaukee gets a chance to do the same against Brooklyn in early May. If the Bucs can do that, they have a chance to take over first place in the East. — Bontemps
Denver’s season took another hit when Will Barton suffered what coach Michael Malone called a pretty serious hamstring injury. This comes after the team lost Jamal Murray for the season with a torn ACL. Denver still won five of six games, with Nikola Jokic continuing his MVP campaign and Michael Porter Jr. stepping up his game. PJ Dozier is expected to take an increasingly active role and Barton will certainly be out of the picture. -Youngomisuk

8. Los Angeles Lakers
2020-21 Record: 35-25Previous ranking: 7
The return of Anthony Davis could not stop the Lakers’ bloodshed, as Los Angeles was 0-2 in its first two games back from injury against the Mavericks. To make matters worse, this loss came against a Dallas team that is right behind the Lakers in the standings. Los Angeles is now just a game and a half ahead of the Mavs for fifth place in the Western Conference standings. — McManaman.
It was particularly pleasing to see Dwight Powell play such a big part in setting Luka Doncic on fire in the second half of Saturday’s win. Powell showed signs of the explosiveness and closing skills he possessed before tearing his Achilles tendon in January 2020. He scored 21 of his 25 points in the second half, with a season-high 9 of 10 from the field, including seven dunks or layups off Doncic’s coverage. head coach Rick Carlisle said: Today I see no difference from Dwight Powell before his injury, and that’s a testament to the incredible amount of work that went into it. — McMahon.

10. New York Knicks
2020-21 Record: 34-27Previous ranking: 14
The Knicks keep winning and are on their way to their best season since 2012-13 (54 wins), the last time they made the playoffs. Julius Randle confirmed his right to be selected to the All-NBA team and Tom Thibodeau did the same by winning his second Coach of the Year award. Randle has been impressive in his average in just about every category, while Thibodeau has led this team to much greater heights than anyone could have imagined. — Bontemps

11. Atlanta Hawks
2020-21 Record: 34-27Previous ranking: 12
With Sunday’s win, the Hawks improved their record to 20-7 since Nate McMillan took over as interim coach. That’s the best record in the East over that period, and only the Nuggets have a better overall record. Atlanta improved for the first time this season, winning 11 of its last 14 games to secure home-field advantage in the Eastern Conference playoffs. — Lopez.

The Blazers have lost five in a row and eight of 10. They slipped to a playoff position and are now two games behind the Mavericks in the loss column. It’s hard to diagnose the Blazers, but Damian Lillard summed it up this way after Sunday’s loss against Memphis: I’m not good enough. I’m on the field because it gives our team the best chance to win and I need to be better. — Young
The Heat won three of four games last week and had Jimmy Butler return from an ankle injury in Wednesday’s win over the Spurs. Butler is averaging 19.0 points, 8.7 assists and 4.7 rebounds over the last three games. Duncan Robinson added 23 points in Saturday’s win over the Bulls and is averaging 14.4 points per game this month. — Friedell.

14. Boston Celtics

A week ago, the Celtics seemed to have turned the tide: They’ve won six in a row and eight of nine. Boston has now lost three of its last four games and is in danger of falling back into the playoff picture. While it’s not his fault because he missed nearly three weeks after testing positive for COVID-19, newly acquired Evan Fournier failed to take a shot in three of the six games he played against Boston. — Bontemps
The first two appearances of the 21-year-old cornerstone of the franchise, Jaren Jackson Jr, who was sent to the bench last season due to meniscus surgery, were very encouraging. Jackson scored 38 points on 14-of-25 shooting in 43 minutes, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots. For now, he comes off the bench because Memphis is cautious about Jackson’s workload and left him on the bench for Sunday’s game against Portland as a precaution. — McMahon.

16. Golden State Warriors

Like Stephen Curry and the Warriors. The two-time MVP scored 37 times in Sunday night’s win over the Kings, setting a new record for a calendar month with 85 three-pointers in April. Curry has had some great breaks in his career, but this one is probably the best he’s ever had. He is averaging 38.2 points per game this month. — Friedell.

17. Charlotte Hornets

Charlotte posted a nice win against the Celtics on Sunday, with all five starters scoring in double figures. Terry Rozier continues to get the ball from LaMelo and Gordon Hayward. Rozier has scored at least 20 points in six of his last seven games. Ball could return this week after more than a month’s absence with a wrist injury, the Hornets are poised to make a playoff run. — Friedell.

18. San Antonio Spurs

The Spurs have won four of their last five games and moved up to ninth in the Western Conference. They were planted because of Derrick White’s scoring ability in that section. Last week, White finished two games with at least 25 points, giving him a total of six points in 35 games this season. In his first 152 games, White has played in only three games in which he scored 25 or more points. — Lopez.
It’s been a tumultuous week for Osha Brissett. After being offered a multi-year contract with the Pacers, Brissett responded with a 23-point, 12-rebound performance against Oklahoma City last Wednesday. He had another double-double (11 points, 11 rebounds) on Saturday against the Pistons and followed that up with 13 points and 8 rebounds on Sunday against the Magic. The Pacers have won all three of their games. — Lopez.

20. Washington Wizards

The Wizards are so close now that they’re doing something they haven’t done in Washington since Michael Jordan wore a Wizards jersey. Washington has won eight consecutive games and can set a franchise record of nine consecutive games, which was reached four times, the last time in December 2001 when Jordan was still a Wizard. Bradley Beal and Russell Westbrook are on the verge of breaking through, but Daniel Gafford is an incredible acquisition. Since the center change, the Wizards are 10-1 when Gafford plays. With 12 games left in the season, the Wizards are currently in 10th place and in the play-in tournament. -Youngomisuk

21. Toronto Raptors

That’s it: Sacramento got 24 points and eight assists from rookie Tyrese Haliburton against Golden State on Sunday. The bad: The Kings still lost to the Warriors by four points. Ugly: Haliburton only got time to launch this production because De’Aaron Fox was absent due to NBA health and safety protocols. — McManaman.
Whenever Darius Garland shines with high-level statistics, as he did this week against the Wizards – 28 points and 9 assists – he seems to be the backbone of a small backcourt the Cavs have assembled. But when you consider that those numbers gave the Wizards a nine-point loss, along with six turnovers, the jury is still out. — McManaman.
The Thunder’s losses stand at 13 games, but even with a continued lack of wins, the players and coaches remain adamant about the team’s attitude. Honestly, it’s a great atmosphere, said guard Ty Jerome. I mean, we have a very competitive group, like everyone at this level, so you know we don’t like to lose. But the atmosphere is good. The longest losing streak in Thunder history (since the franchise moved from Seattle to Oklahoma City in the 2008-09 season) is 14. With the next two games against the Sixers and Celtics, there’s a chance there will be a new flavor. — Young

27. Detroit Pistons

As the Detroit Tanks approach the bottom of the standings, management has an interesting evaluation case in Josh Jackson. The former lottery player averaged 17 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.5 assists on a shooting percentage of 39.3 percent. April, but the Pistons are only 5-9 in the long run. — McManaman.
It may seem shocking that the Wolves won on the road against the Jazz, but since the return of quarterback D’Angelo Russell, Minnesota has a quiet 5-6 record and has played competitively in nearly every game. The Rockets are almost certain to finish in the top three with the best lottery odds, giving them a 52.1% chance of finishing in the top four. Masters of the Universe was launched nearly 40 years ago, primarily as a toy line for action figures. The collaboration with Dark Horse is a return to the origins of the creation of the upcoming Masters of the Universe: An explicit series with an epic storyline from a comic book.

Hamill is best known for his role as the Joker in Batman : The cartoon series of the ’90s. Master of the universe: In Revelation, Hamill will also be seen with Kevin Conroy, his doppelganger in the animated Batman series: The Cartoon Network, gather round. Mr. Conroy will lend his voice to Merman in the upcoming animated series, and he and Mr. Hamill will be joined by a star-studded cast. The first issue of Master of the Universe: The Apocalypse comes out on July 7. 2021 to appear in comic shops, followed by other releases on the 11th. Aug. 9. September and 13. October 2021.

It’s time for the rival play-off managers to take on each other first this week before entering the penultimate round, if not the final marathon battle to determine the champion of this campaign. No one cares if you’ve ever dominated or not. There are only a handful of individual games left over a period of about 75 hours, starting Thursday night. Going forward, the NHL schedule, which ends this week, makes a big difference.

Only six teams will have to play three games each on the four days between Thursday and Sunday at the end of this round. Averaging 4.1 fantasy points per game in that span, Dustin Tokarski is employable for all three games between now and Sunday – one against the Rangers and one against the Bruins – unless the recovering Carter Hutton heals faster than expected. Buffalo center Casey Mittelstadt continues to show off, experiencing his most productive month (by a colossal margin) of his NHL career.
Boston Bruins
You don’t believe in Tokarski? After that, check to make sure David Creasy or Craig Smith weren’t left out of your H2H competition. Defensively, Matt Gjelcyk is emerging as a dangerous – and again healthy – player in the Bruins’ first pair and the No. 1 power play. Grzelcyk owns just 28% of ESPN.com leagues. After two games against Buffalo, Boston faces the Penguins on Sunday. The last time the B’s met Pittsburgh in early April, they scored seven goals (including an empty netter).

philadelphia flyers
Unfortunately, aside from the schedule, there hasn’t been much fun in Flyers fantasy lately. Since the 31st. In March, the team won three of eleven games, averaging just two goals per game. An exception to the managers needing a blue line might be Travis Sanheim. Due to penalties, blocked shots, penalty kicks and a few goals/assists, Philadelphia’s top-4 defense hasn’t been up to par since Week 5. April with an average of 1.9 fantasy points. That’s not a great number, but it’s still almost six points in three games. Any manager who loses a week by a few points – aren’t we all? – needs to appreciate the potential difference that even such a small cushion can make. Sanheim is available in nearly 84% of ESPN.com leagues. In addition to the game with the Rangers, it’s also worth noting that the Flyers will face New Jersey in a four-way contest starting Sunday. In April, no team gave up more goals than the Devils (4.64 per game in 11 games).
Pittsburgh Penguins
After Tuesday’s 7-6 victory, the Penguins will take on New Jersey again on Thursday and Saturday and the Bruins on Sunday. Fantasy managers still hesitant to contact members of Pittsburgh’s second line should change their minds quickly – especially Jeff Carter and Jared McCann. The former scored Tuesday when the Penguins scored three goals for 3.8 fantasy points. McCann is an additional threat on the team’s first power play. As long as Evgeni Malkin isn’t in action – and the center’s return from a lower-body injury for next week will be a big shock – the Carter/McCann combo has great fantasy potential in the coming days. The vast majority of available Mike Matheson presents himself as an intriguing, if volatile, asset on the blue line.
The Jersey Devil
For the Devils, who face the Penguins twice and the Flyers once from Thursday to Sunday, Nico Hischer should be considered a late acquisition. The sophomore center and top power forward has scored two goals on 11 shots in the last two games. Striker Egor Sharangovich is having another productive mini-cycle with two goals and three assists in three games. It could be useful in deeper H2H leagues. Please stay clear of all guards at all costs. This club is also allowing nearly five goals per game in April.
2 Connected
New York Rangers
With Jacob Trouba out until Thursday with a suspected concussion, K’Andre Miller becomes even more important on the Rangers’ blue line. An increase in quality minutes is guaranteed for a rookie defenseman already playing on New York’s second team in the network tournament. Miller is only listed in 5.6 percent of ESPN.com leagues, but could have a good weekend. Of those available in fantasy, attacker Colin Blackwell has the most potential. He is tied with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome in scoring with six goals and six assists in the last 13 games. The Rangers host the Flyers twice in the next 24 hours and face the Sabres on Sunday.
