And it’s fair to assume that the front office will acquire players that compliment the playstyles of these two young guns over the next several seasons.
Fortunately for the squad, there are two disgruntled stars who may be ideal. These two players are stars in the sense that they can consistently deliver on a nightly basis. However, they will not prevent the Grizzlies’ young guns from becoming superstars in their own right. Let’s introduce these two guys and talk about how they can assist the Grizzlies.

Kevin Love is an example of a player that fits this description. Yes, he’s a superstar, but he won’t eclipse Ja Morant as the Grizzlies’ focal point. Love changed his game when he played alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, as Cleveland Cavaliers fans know. As he has acknowledged in interviews, it was a tough process. Analysts began to doubt his true worth as a result of the decrease in his statistics. But, in the end, their sacrifice was rewarded with a championship.
With this in mind, Love will have no trouble accepting whatever position he is assigned if he wears the Grizzlies uniform. Love could easily slide into a stretch-4 position and shoot from deep, like he did with LeBron James, given Morant’s key role in the Grizzlies offense. Given the Grizzlies’ youthful and energetic core, his trademark outlet passes may see a return.
Aside from the tangibles that Love might offer, any club — particularly a young one — could benefit from his abundance of experience. Given Morant’s high-octane style of play, Hield might be the ideal running partner. Furthermore, a shooter offers them a plethora of offensive possibilities. If Hield enters the fray, the team won’t have any problems with space.
Apart from that, Hield might give Morant a few pointers on good shooting technique. This has been Morant’s worst flaw throughout his short career. With his quickness and playmaking, he has wowed the crowd. Morant, on the other hand, fails miserably when it comes to shooting. The Murray State star is undoubtedly working on his jump shooting right now. He clearly has the proper coaches on his side. But having someone like Hield, a career 40.6 percent 3-point shooter, is a different story.
Hield, unlike Love, may be a simpler fish to catch. The Grizzlies will likely receive the nod from the Kings if they can bring in some of the potential young guns and a couple draft choices.
