Chelsea’s 4-1 Premier League victory at Sheffield United’s lowest-ranked club at Stamford Bridge on Saturday saw the club continue their promising run to third place.

The Blues started slowly and was ten minutes behind when David McGoldrick shot Sander Berg’s house to get rid of Edward Mundy. However, the Londoners were already ahead before the break and it didn’t look like they would lose any points after the break.

Tammy Abraham first levelled with a shot from Mateo Kovacic before Ben Chilwell took advantage of Aaron Ramsdale’s inability to take free kicks and went into the far post. In the second half Thiago Silva led the third Chelsea and Timo Werner added the icing on the cake.

Positive

Chelsea has scored three or more goals in six of their last eight games. Guests had a hard time breaking with two triple banks, but the Blues found a way, first through wide positions, before the game was opened.

Negative

Chelsea were little criticised, although they allowed the first goal after five games. The blades took on the Blues defence by surprise and knocked them out, but it was only a slap in the face as the home team passed by.

Management figure of 10

8 — Frank Lampard will be very satisfied with the work of his team, especially as his new players grow with every game. Especially at night Zieh was impressed, but Werner and Silva also played well. Looks like it’s all gonna come down to Manager Blues.

Player scores (1-10; 10 = best, players reported after 70 minutes do not get a score)

GK Edouard Mendy, 6 — He admitted his first Premier League goal, but didn’t stop McGoldrick from scoring after an international Irish Republic converted Berger’s shot into the far corner.

DF Reece James, 8 — Another solid touch where he rarely gave or lost the ball on the ground or in the air. He looks dangerous on both sides and it looks like he’s getting better with every game.

DF Kurt Zuma, 7 – Zuma seemed to play well next to Silva after a slow start, he showed great calmness on the ball and won everything that was thrown in the air.

DF Thiago Silva, 8 – It is no coincidence that Chelsea looks stronger when Silva is a partner of the Zumas. Although it was a difficult start when the guests showed up, Silva was great and even hit the scoreboard for 13 minutes every now and then.

DF Ben Chilwell, 7 — The left back gave another guaranteed result. Not only did he look back solid, but he gave Chelsea the advantage of tying the house to the back after Ramesdale couldn’t raise the money.

IF Mateo Kovacic, 7 — Probably his best game of the season so far He walked cleverly between the lines before going to Abraham’s Chelsea Equalizer and walked 70 minutes later into the ground before taking off.

MF N’Golo Kante, 7 – The midfielder played low and did what he did best: He won the ball and made an easy pass to his teammates. When Giorgiño appeared, he was still walking.

MF Mason Mount, 7 – Mount was excellent in the Chelsea midfield. His long-distance transmission was excellent, although he needed more work to beat the first person in the corner.

FW Hakim Ziech, 9 — A constant threat to the whole game, with an incredible number of passes. He participated in the first three goals, and the second – the birth of evil, which ended Chilwell. It has created opportunities from a broad and deep spectrum.

FW Tammy Abraham, 7 — He scored his second goal of the week. His equalizer was scratched, but he was sitting right in the corner. It was his fourth goal in four games against the Blades.

FW Timo Werner, 7 — In the second half, he came back to life and gave up the goal first thanks to a lobbying attempt on Zieh’s beautiful ball, but after a few minutes he scored the fourth goal for Chelsea, not without reason.

Replaces

Giorginho MF, N/R — 19 minutes over and he was in front of the Chelsea defense to push Kante further forward.

FW Olivier Giroux, N/R — The winner of the French World Championship got a role at the end in a three-minute episode and had little opportunity to participate.
