Barcelona Firpo is no longer needed

Barcelona are looking for another left-back after Junior Firpo was deemed surplus to requirements, Marca reports.

The League giants have already identified two leading candidates for Firpo’s role: José Gay, from Valencia, and Alfonso Pedraza, from Villarreal.

– Hunter: The most important month in barca’s life.

Marca say Guy is preferred by Barcelona, but add that Valencia may not want to take the 25-year-old because of his interest in the club’s first team. Pedraza therefore appears to be the most financially viable option for Ronald Koeman’s team at this stage.

Angelino, from Manchester City, who is currently on loan to RB Leipzig, would also be of interest to the Catalans.

Naples has set a high price for Coulibaly

Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis said with a laugh that his star centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly is for sale, reports Talksport.

Premier League giants Manchester City, Liverpool and Manchester United have all shown interest in the 29-year-old defender’s services, but De Laurentiis said he would only seriously consider selling the defender if an offer of £100m or more was made.

This means that it is unlikely that Koulibaly will leave Naples without becoming the most expensive defender in the world. It is clear that Liverpool are looking at Koulibaly amid a defensive injury crisis involving Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, but it is unclear if they are ready to meet Napoli’s exacting demands.

machine guns targeting Heaton Manor

Arsenal are reportedly looking at goalkeeping options and are considering buying Tom Heaton from Aston Villa to replace the struggling Alex Runarsson.

According to the Daily Mail, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta would like to loan Runarsson out after he failed to convince in Manchester City’s 4-1 Carabao Cup defeat.

Arteta sees Heaton as the ideal replacement for Icelandic striker Runarsson.
