Tom Brady is on pace to break the NFL record for most touchdown passes in a season. He currently has 34 touchdowns passing, which would be more than any other player in league history. The Patriots are set to play their former team this Sunday and it could be the perfect storm for Brady to break the record.

Tom Brady could break the NFL record for passing yards in a single season against his former team, the Patriots, in Week 4. The current record is held by Drew Brees at 5476 yards. Read more in detail here: tom brady passing yards 2021.

When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the New England Patriots in Week 4 on Oct. 3 at Gillette Stadium, quarterback Tom Brady may break another significant record based on his Week 1 performance. Brady, 44, passed for 379 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions in the Patriots’ season-opening 31-29 victory against the Dallas Cowboys.

Brady is currently 778 yards away from passing Drew Brees for the NFL’s all-time passing yards lead, and it may happen in the city where he lived for 20 years and won six Super Bowl championships.

Brees threw for 80,358 yards in his 20-year NFL career.

According to NBC Sports’ Darren Hartwell, Brady may set a new record when the Buccaneers visit the Patriots, where he spent 20 seasons before joining Tampa Bay last season on a two-year, $50 million contract.

Brady has a chance to surpass Brees’ record against the Patriots, according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe, if he passes for 300 yards or more in the Buccaneers’ next two games against the Atlanta Falcons and the Los Angeles Rams.

After throwing for 379 yards last night, Tom Brady is currently 775 yards short of Drew Brees’ all-time passing yardage record. Brady may shatter the mark in the second or third quarter against the Patriots if he passes for 300 yards or more in his next two games.

Brady has a chance to shatter another Brees mark.

Aside from setting the all-time passing yardage record, Brady may join Drew Brees, Brett Favre, and Peyton Manning as the fourth quarterback in NFL history to defeat all 32 clubs.

Brady is also on pace to shatter another Brees mark this season, according to ESPN statistics. After completing 32 of 50 throws against the Cowboys for a total of 6,810 career completions, Brady is only 333 completions away from breaking Brees’ record of 7,142 completions.

Brady completed 401 of 610 passes for a 65.7 percent completion rate last season.

With 585 touchdown passes, Brady is the all-time leader, while Brees has 571 in his Hall of Fame career.

Brady reached a career milestone in Week 1 against the Cowboys, when he made his 300th start since taking over as starting for the Patriots in 2001 when Drew Bledsoe’s season was cut short due to injury.

The Buccaneers have made changes to their roster.

According to Scott Smith of Buccaneers.com, the Buccaneers made some roster changes in the aftermath of their Week 1 victory, releasing safety Chris Cooper.

Cooper, along with running back Giovani Bernard and cornerback Dee Delaney, was one of just three non-rookie rookies to make the Buccaneers’ first active squad in 2021 following a good preseason performance on special teams.

Cooper, on the other hand, was held out of the Buccaneers’ season-opening victory against Dallas on Thursday night. If Cooper clears waivers, the Buccaneers will put him on their practice squad, according to NBC Sports’ Charean Williams, who cited information from Greg Auman of TheAthletic.com. The Buccaneers will promote receiver Jaydon Mickens from the practice squad to fill the vacant position on the 53-man roster, according to Auman.
