Tyler Adams will be playing in his first game with the US Men’s National soccer team on Tuesday night in Columbus, Ohio against Mexico. He’s excited to make his debut and is ready to go.

Berhalter was asked about Adams, who was a bit ‘snakebitten’ last time out. “He’s ready to go. His game last week was great, and I know he’s very eager to get back out there this weekend, and do a good job for us.”

For the first time in more than a decade, the United States Men’s National Team will feature a player who has never been capped with the senior team, as the USMNT will officially unveil Tyler Adams  as the youngest player to ever take the field for the senior team at the team’s camp in San Jose, California, this weekend.. U.S. men’s national team coach Gregg Berhalter said midfielder Tyler Adams has recovered and is ready for Sunday’s final CONCACAF Nations League match against Mexico after recovering from a back injury. Adams missed the last three Bundesliga matches due to illness, as well as the DFB Cup final loss against Borussia Dortmund. He also did not play in the U.S. national team’s friendly against Switzerland or in Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Honduras in the Nations League semifinals. – Evaluating the US-Mexico rivalry ahead of the Nations League final – Carlisle: USMNT learns an important lesson from CONCACAF against Honduras Berhalter previously said Adams is making progress, but now seems healthy enough to be on the field. Adams is recovered and ready to go, so the key for us is to make a decision on whether or not to start the game, Berhalter said. Against Honduras, the U.S. missed coverage and tackled Adams, but Berhalter offered his midfield defense and explained that the U.S.’s problems in transition against Los Catrachos ran deeper than the people on the field. You’re tempted to say you want to see [Adams] on the field, but I don’t think the deficiencies had to do with personnel, he said. I think it has to do with the structure, I really do. If you think about some of our attacks, our positioning and our movements, we were off balance. And it’s not just Tyler’s presence that can fix everything. We need to be more balanced as a team. The match against Honduras was a baptism of sorts for players like Joshua Sargent and Giovanni Reyna, as it was their first league game against a CONCACAF opponent at adult level. Defenseman John Brooks, a veteran of these meetings, said he can’t tell his teammates much in terms of preparation. I think talking about it is different than playing against teams like that, he said. After the game against Honduras, I think everyone knows what it’s like to play against teams like that. It will never be easy. Every game is a battle. Against Honduras it was the same. All that matters is that we won the match and qualified for the final against Mexico, and now we are ready. play 2:04 Hercules Gomez reacts to the US’ 1-0 victory over Honduras in the CONCACAF Nations League semifinals. Mexico coach Gerardo Tata Martino said his team’s experience will be an important factor in the final in Denver. The average age of the Mexican national team is 28 years, 89 days and 40 games, while the average age of the U.S. national team is 23 years, 336 days and 18 games. It will all depend on the team being able to impose its game. We will do it our way, with experienced players who know how to handle such matches, Martino said. The US will have their speed and youth, and we hope the game will turn in our favor. Mexico goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, whose heroic hit saved El Tri after 90 scoreless minutes in Thursday’s other semifinal against Costa Rica, said the team never wants to lose when it plays against the United States. It’s the Clasico of the region, it’s always a high intensity match, the Club America goalkeeper said. It’s a rivalry with quality players on both sides. Martino was also asked about Mexico’s problems at striker, with Raul Jimenez breaking his skull in November and Javier Chicharito Hernandez missing from the squad. I think it’s disrespectful to say we don’t have [a striker], we have two [Alan Pulido and Henry Martin], Martino said. As for the anti-gay chants that briefly interrupted the game against Costa Rica at halftime and led to several fans being ejected from the stadium, both Martino and Ochoa have asked fans to refrain from doing so during Sunday’s game. It’s not going to help us, Ochoa said. Fans should encourage the players, but also respect the opponents.
