The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a new head coach, a new defensive scheme, and a new franchise quarterback. After finishing 6-10 in the 2018 season, they have high expectations going forward. With all of those changes, the team is also expecting some new players that will make the Buccaneers one of the most improved teams in the league. Let’s check out the 3 pleasant surprises standing out early in the Bucs 2021 training camp.. Read more about buccaneers 2020 record and let us know what you think.
The reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, are gearing up for another championship push in the 2021 NFL season. Following another successful offseason, the front staff was able to keep the whole starting lineup while also adding some exciting new talent in the NFL Draft of 2021. The Buccaneers are well-positioned for success not just this season, but also in the future.
Tampa Bay will be a Super Bowl contender once again, but the future possibilities are also promising. Bucs supporters should be excited about the team’s future, as a few standouts have been making waves throughout training camp. This is precisely what the Buccaneers need from their rookie class, since it ensures the franchise’s long-term viability.
Right now in training camp, three rookies stand out and have proven to be nice surprises for the coaching staff. One may have an immediate effect on defense, while the other two could play important roles in the future. With that in mind, the Buccaneers have had three nice shocks so far in training camp.
Joe Tryon was the Bucs’ first-round selection, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise, but he’s been outstanding so far. With outside linebackers Jason Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett acting as starters, it was thought that Tryon would remain a rotation player until he was ready for a bigger role. Joe Tryon, on the other hand, seems to be a seasoned veteran thus far in training camp and will almost certainly push his way into playing time straight away.
“Joe’s a beast, and you could see it from the first day I walked on the field with him,” Sean Murphy-Bunting said of rookie OLB Joe Tryon.
“He’ll be a nightmare for other teams.”

We’ll have to wait and see how Tryon fits into the Buccaneers’ defense, which is already loaded on that side of the ball. The coaching staff will find a way to get its first-round selection on the field regardless of his age or experience. He’s been a one-man wrecking crew and has everyone impressed. Tryon is expected to have an immediate impact for the Buccaneers.
Offense of the Buccaneers
Jaelon Darden was a sleeper target for many in the wide receiver position after being selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he joins a stacked receiving corps, with Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and Antonio Brown serving as Tom Brady’s top three ball catchers. Darden will make the final roster, but he may not reach his peak potential for another year or two.
Despite this, Jaelon Darden has been a standout in training camp so far. It’s also worth noting that Brady was asked to assess the rookie receivers by head coach Bruce Arians. Darden joins a Bucs squad that believes in his abilities while also grabbing Tom Brady’s attention. Darden will likely play a minor part in 2021, but he has the potential to become a significant player in 2022.
Kyle Trask (Kyle Trask)
It was expected that the Buccaneers would pick a quarterback in the 2021 NFL Draft, but few expected Kyle Trask to be that quarterback. Trask has been showing his value throughout training camp, despite some criticism before to the draft. He has a little chance of seeing the field this season, but the Bucs planned it that way. While the coaching staff works with Kyle Traks to help him improve, he will be the third-string quarterback.
In Tampa Bay, Trask is on a winning streak. He’s studying and playing with the greatest quarterback of all time. Meanwhile, when he’s ready to take over as starting quarterback in a few years, the Buccaneers should still have a strong roster to work with. Trask was a productive quarterback in college, regularly delivering the ball to his team’s top weapons at Florida. The Buccaneers may have a dynasty on their hands if Kyle Trask develops.
