The Miami Dolphins lost their preseason opener in impressive fashion on the road against the New England Patriots. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill made mistakes throughout the game that were costly, but he also made plays when he needed to, and his receivers didn’t help him out much.

As the preseason continued with the Miami Dolphins losing two straight to start the preseason with a lot of errors in their game, it has been noted by many that the mistakes in the Dolphins’ game are “correctable”.

What are the mistakes that Tua Tagovailoa made against the Miami Dolphins in his first preseason game? The first mistake was his interception in the first quarter. The Dolphins picked off Tua’s first pass and forced a three-and-out.. Read more about tua tagovailoa and let us know what you think.

CHICAGO (WLS) — Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins had an otherwise promising preseason debut tarnished by one poor mistake.

Tagovailoa went on a tear after a fast three-and-out to start Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bears, completing eight consecutive passes over the Dolphins’ next two series.

On first-and-10 from the Bears’ 14-yard line with 12 minutes and 11 seconds left in the second quarter, Tagovailoa tried a throw over the middle to tight end Adam Shaheen in the front of the end zone, but it was intercepted by Bears safety DeAndre Houston-Carson.

Come on over. Momentum has (temporarily) come to a stop. Tagovailoa’s day has come to an end.

Following Chicago’s 20-13 triumph, Miami’s second-year quarterback confessed to making a bad decision on the play.

Tagovailoa remarked, “You know, I believe the DB made a terrific play.” “That wasn’t a wise move on my side. When you’re in the red zone, you have to make fast, smart choices. And it was a hasty choice, but not a wise one. It’s just something I have to keep learning from, add to my armory, and hope I don’t make the same mistake again.”

This is something we really like seeing.

Tagovailoa’s error, according to Dolphins coach Brian Flores, is a simple remedy.

Flores remarked, “Obviously he made one poor choice in the red zone.” “It was brought up in conversation. He’s quite aware of what he should have done with the ball. It’s reversible. We spoke about it as a staff, and it’s something that’s really easy to fix, and he’ll fix it and go on to greater things.”

Aside from the fumble, Tagovailoa had a terrific rhythm, often flustering a tough Bears defense that had tested the Dolphins attack earlier in the week during joint sessions.

At halftime, Miami led the Bears by 215 yards to 79 yards.

“Offensively, I’d say we’re getting into a nice rhythm,” Tagovailoa said. “I believe we did a very good job converting third downs and fourth downs. But, on the other hand, it’s a one-play-at-a-time mindset…. Take a shot, whatever play we’re given, we’ve got to go through the basics and methods we’ve been taught all week and put them to use.”

Tagovailoa’s finest play in Miami’s preseason defeat came on a 50-yard touchdown pass to tight end Mike Gesicki on a wonderfully placed long ball.

“It began with the line, and I thought the line did a fantastic job today,” Tagovailoa said. “They maintained the pocket clean, giving me plenty of time to walk up into it and deliver the ball. It wasn’t just one play; there were many more during the first and second quarters when they truly stood out.”

Gesicki, for one, thought the throw was more spectacular than the grab.

“Tua did a fantastic job all day,” Gesicki added. “We connected twice because he trusted his reads, went through his process, was patient when creating plays, and stepped up in the pocket. He throws a very catchable ball with excellent touch and placement.”

Critics will continue to question if Tagovailoa is Miami’s long-term solution. That isn’t going to change with a fairly good preseason performance (8-of-11 for 99 yards, one interception).

Tagovailoa, on the other hand, had much more positive moments than negative ones on Saturday. At the very least, the performance of the 2020 first-round draft choice was a step in the right direction.

Tagovailoa remarked, “I did all fine.” “We need to fix up a lot of things offensively, especially our communication and, more importantly, our execution of the plays we were given.”

“But, for the first time, I felt it was fairly decent in a genuine game-like scenario…. We’ll look at some of the plays that didn’t go as planned and make the necessary adjustments.”
