In the Pixar

Disney has suggested that future films will have all genres and will contain non-binary characters to increase the diversity of genres on screen.

Fans discovered the footage in the fourth episode of Inside Pixar, a documentary currently aired on Disney+ that gives fans a glimpse of what’s happening in the Pixar animation studio.

The last episode of the short film series is dedicated to screenwriter Jessica Hydet, who is actively involved in Pixar films for a better balance between men and women.

Although the main goal was to increase the number of female characters on the screen, it did attract the interest of the public, suggesting that the Pixar was already aimed at better representation of the gender on the screen.

Hydet promised that Pixar’s films would contain characters from all genres, and fans saw this as a confirmation that the films would see non-binary characters – especially since Hydet had previously focused on the battle that non-binary people have to fight when it comes to presenting themselves on screen.

A Pixar fan tweeted with emotion: Observe the inner teachings of Pixar and let yourself be completely torn apart when someone recognizes people without binary origins.

I can’t find Jessica Heidt on Twitter to thank me directly, but I have to say it’s great that she has inspired such progress by changing @Pixarâ’s approach to the representation of genres on screen. Let their work be scattered everywhere! #InsidePixar https://t.co/RAokdbYe83

Episode 4 Inside Pixar on Disney+ shows that future Pixar movies will have characters of all sexes. When non-pixel-bound binary characters? to set up another viewer.

This is another big step forward for the studio, as Pixar introduced his first openly gay character in his short Disney film Pixar Out, released earlier this year.

This nine-minute short film was directed and composed by Steven Hunter and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. It is aimed at a young homosexual who has not yet gone to his parents and is trying to find the courage to do so.

Some Disney fans have already said that in their opinion the character of Inside Out Riley cannot be considered binary. Although she appears in the film as an 11-year-old girl, she is the only character who has both male and female emotions in her head – the other characters have one or the other.

However, the director of the film said that the reason Riley has both male and female emotions is due to both the narrative economy and the fact that children in general seem to have a more fluid identity.
